- Divide total CBD by total drops: 1000mg ÷ 200 drops = 5mg of CBD per drop
That’s the whole calculation. The percentage alone never tells you the per-drop amount; it only becomes useful once you factor in bottle size and drop count together.
Why Bottle Size Changes the Answer, Even at the Same Percentage
Wrong: “A 10% oil is always 5mg per drop, no matter the bottle size.”
This assumption catches people out when they compare a 10ml bottle to a 30ml bottle at the same percentage. The strength, and therefore the mg per drop, stays identical, but the total number of drops in the bottle scales with volume.
Right: A 30ml bottle at 10% still delivers 5mg per drop, but contains roughly 600 drops instead of 200, since there’s three times the liquid to work with.
